Copper Engravings – Views, Botany and Vedute
In copper engraving the design is cut into a copper plate with a burin. Until the early 19th century it was the main technique for views and scientific plates. The collection includes Swiss vedute such as Bern, Walterswil and Uetikon Castle, views of Florence and England, and hand-coloured botanical plates.
