About the Work
A charming pair of hand-coloured botanical engravings from the early 19th century, depicting restharrow and a blue-flowering navelwort in delicate hand colouring. Such botanical plates were part of the great natural-history reference works of the period and are today especially sought after as decorative pairs. The provenance via the Rudolf Raubach art dealership in St. Gallen adds a further anchor in Swiss collecting history.
