About the Work
A charming hand-coloured steel engraving of the village view of Arth on Lake Zug, engraved by Grobert after a drawing by Girard from a French Switzerland series of the Biedermeier period. The vivid hand-colouring with its deep blue lake and fresh greens makes this sheet a real eye-catcher. The reverse stamp of the Zug bookbindery Sedlacek-Acklin documents its local origin and gives the work an attractive Zug provenance.

Aus einer Zuger Privatsammlung: Dieser kolorierte Stahlstich zeigt die klassische Vedute von Arth am Zugersee. Der blaue Stempel 'Frz. Sedlacek-Acklin Buchbinderei ZUG' auf der Rückseite verrät, dass das Blatt einst in einer Zuger Werkstatt gerahmt bzw. gebunden wurde – ein authentischer Beleg für die regionale Herkunft und die lange Zuger Geschichte dieses Werks.
