From a private collection in Zug. The stamp on the back, 'Kunsthandlung Einrahmungen Ed. Widmer, Basel, Untere Rebgasse 27', shows that the sheet was once framed and sold by a respected Basel art dealer, a fine, locally rooted provenance. The Fischmarkt fountain is one of the most popular Basel city views and is especially decorative in this strong hand colouring.
