About the Work

This hand-engraved copperplate print depicts the Oberdorf of Unterägeri with its striking parish church and signature onion-domed tower – a genuine piece of Zug heritage. Werner Bader cut the plate entirely by hand in the manner of the old masters and pulled the sheet on a hand press onto laid paper; the edition is strictly limited to 200 numbered and signed impressions. With its accompanying artist's certificate and original 1983 purchase confirmation, authenticity is fully documented.

Provenance

The work comes from the workshop of the engraver Werner Bader and, according to the accompanying certificate, was engraved in copper by hand and printed on a hand press on laid paper. The original purchase receipt of the printing shop and stationer Pius Signer on the Dorfplatz in 6314 Unterägeri, dated 20 November 1983, documents the purchase of impression No. 66 at the then price of Fr. 110.–. The work was framed by Einrahmung Andreas Hüllmann, Schmiedgasse 2, 6300 Zug (stamp on the back). The edition is limited to 200 hand-signed impressions, and reprints are expressly excluded: a fully documented local work from Zug.
