About the Work
This plate comes from the Parisian luxury portfolio 'La Carrosserie Française' by L. Lagard — a pattern book used by elite coachbuilders in the 19th century to present models to their wealthy clientele. The warm ochre colouring and precise technical linework make it an elegant testament to the golden age of carriage building, printed at the legendary Lemercier lithography workshop. A real eye-catcher for lovers of horse-drawn vehicles, automotive history and refined interiors.
Provenance
An original plate from the Paris carriage-building pattern book 'La Carrosserie Française' by L. Lagard (22 Rue des Acacias, Paris), printed by Imprimeries Lemercier, Paris. Around 1880–1900 such sheets served as sales models for luxury carriages: an authentic piece of Parisian craft and transport history, fittingly presented in a gilt frame with a mount.
