About the Work
Zug's old town from a bird's-eye view, as Matthäus Merian recorded it in 1642. The print shows the intact town walls, St. Oswald's and St. Michael's, the convents, and Lake Zug with its cargo sailboats. The French lettering marks an edition made for a European readership. Ready to hang, it is a striking piece of Zug's history for a home, office or boardroom.
Provenance
