About the Work

A hand-signed original watercolour by Swiss painter Elisabeth Gasser-von Gunten, who specialised in botanical rose studies — her studio label even features a rose motif. The delicate rendering of the petals and the realistic drawing of thorns and leaf veins reveal genuine skill. As a one-of-a-kind piece with full documentation on the reverse, it is far more than a decorative print.

Provenance

The work comes directly from the studio of Elisabeth Gasser-von Gunten, a painter from Langnau am Albis (Breitwiesstrasse 71). The original label on the back, with a rose vignette and her professional title 'Malerin' (painter), and the handwritten pencil note clearly document its origin. A hand-signed original by an artist who made the rose her signature motif.
