About the Work

The 18th-century Baroque façade of Murcia Cathedral glows warmly against a deep blue night sky. The artist has captured the bell tower, sculpted niches and columns with loving attention to detail. On the reverse she personally dedicated and signed the work in December 1999, making it a true one-of-a-kind piece with its own story. The wide, richly ornamented frame turns this small format into an eye-catcher on any wall.

Provenance

Das Gemälde ist vorne als "Argentina" signiert. Auf der Rückseite trägt es die eigenhändige Widmung der Künstlerin an "Rodolfo y Encarni, primos de mis queridos amigos", geschrieben "con todo afecto" und datiert Dezember 1999. Die Widmung belegt, dass das Werk direkt aus der Hand der Malerin als persönliches Geschenk weitergegeben wurde.

Inscriptions

Vorderseite unten rechts signiert: "Argentina" (Lesung wahrscheinlich). Rückseite, handschriftliche Widmung in Tinte: "A Rodolfo y Encarni / primos de mis queridos amigos / Con todo afecto / La autora / Argentina / Esp. Dbre 99.-" (einzelne Namen und Abkürzungen nicht eindeutig lesbar, "Encarni" und "Esp. Dbre" als wahrscheinlichste Lesung)
